In loving memory ~
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Robert "Dan" Hartman after a brief three month illness. Dan lived his entire life in and around Campbell River and surrounding Islands. His fondest childhood memories were of the time his family lived on Cortez. To say Dan loved the ocean is an understatement. He was never more at peace than when he was boating or tinkering on his sailboat at the government wharf.
Dan worked for 35 years at Elk Falls Mill and in his "spare" time built several houses in the Campbell River area. Dan was a generous person who was always eager to lend a helping hand.
Dan is predeceased by his parents, Fred and Margaret, as well as younger sisters Goldie and Doris. He is survived by his loving partner of 40 years, Sheila Marshall, as well as his daughters, Tammy (Doug), Shelley, and stepchildren Peter, Terry and Julie. He will also be missed by his grandchildren and extended family.
Dan's family wishes to extend a big thank you to the care teams at Campbell River General Hospital (3A and 3D), who worked hard to make each day a little brighter. Dan spent his last four weeks in hospice care at Evergreen Senior's Home. Enough simply can't be said about the quality of care and compassion extended to Dan and the entire family while at Evergreen. We will be forever thankful to your team!
In keeping with Dan's wishes, there will be no service.
