Robert (Bob) WILKIN

August 30, 2006

Wilkin,

Robert (Bob)

Born December 19, 1922, in Mortlach, Saskatchewan left us suddenly August 30, 2006.

Bob spent his early years in Duncan and Lake Cowichan working in the logging industry. He enlisted in the Navy and served as a signalman on Corvettes during WWII.

He made Campbell River his home in 1963 when he became a partner in McCurdy Creek Logging. His great sense of humor entertained all who knew him and after retiring from the woods he spent countless hours fishing on the water guiding clients and friends and regaling them with his colorful stories onboard his boat Tango. As an avid crib player, he enjoyed many games at the local clubs with his best friend Anne.

Predeceased by his wife Dode in 2002 and lovingly remembered by his son Allan (Janice) grandchildren, Tara, Trisha and Todd, daughter Patricia Dougherty and granddaughter Cheri, great grandson Steven, his sister Jane in Victoria and many nieces and nephews.

He will be greatly missed by all of us. A memorial service will be held in November in Campbell River at the Royal Canadian Legion Pacific Branch #137. Time and date to be announced later.
