Reinhold (Ray) Bernhard Staubli passed away at Yucalta Lodge on October 07, 2018. Ray was born on April 2, 1948 in Unterlunkhofen, Switzerland.
He completed an apprenticeship as an Automotive Technician, and worked in Switzerland until 1979. At this time, he immigrated to Campbell River, Canada, after accepting a position at J.P. Motors. A few years later, he became the owner/operator of Auto-Metric. Cars were his passion. He was a member of the Vintage Car Club, for which he moderated a TV Show for many years. During this time, he purchased his beloved 1959 Buick Electra, which was his pride and joy. He also loved to have coffee at Steiner Bakery with his buddies.
In 2003 he suffered a stroke from which he never fully recovered. Ray lived out the rest of his years at Yucalta Lodge.
Ray leaves behind his sister, Marlys, his brother in-law, Noldi, his nephews, Daniel (family) and Andre (family), and numerous relatives and friends in Switzerland and Canada.
As per Ray's wishes there will be no service.
