Reine Marie Berns

December 8, 1931 – July 17, 2018
Reine passed away in Powell River surrounded by her loving husband and children.

Reine leaves to mourn, her very devoted husband Theodorus Berns of 65 years, children Betty Rae (Jim), Johan Berns (Brenda), Alex Berns, Annake McKay (Alex), Helena Arnold, Patrick Berns (Joanne),

Albert Berns (Nadyne) and 19 grandchildren, one predeceased, and 6 great grandchildren. Reine will be immensely missed as she had a great impact on her family and the Campbell River community in which she had lived for over 50 years.

After raising her family she developed more outside interests by being one of the founders of Birthright, where she impacted many young girls, she even welcomed several into her home to stay and helped them by being their birthing coach.

In her sixties she proudly did the Tahsis walk 3 times for charity. Family, faith and her church were a huge part of her life, she served on the Parish Council and CWL where she held office and volunteered in many ways. She was always ready and willing to help wherever she could and always with cheerfulness and humour.

She had many interests; writing, acting, walking, swim coaching, singing, quilting, needlepointing, knitting, sewing, doing skits, liquid embroidery, cross stitching, stained glass art, and bringing joy and unconditional love to everyone she met.

Your family will truly miss you. Bolle, Mom, Oma we love you and are relieved that you are no longer in pain.
