Dudley passed away at home on Quadra Island with his family by his side. Dudley was born in Jordon River, BC on January 4th, 1926 to Reginald and Jane Richards. At the age of 2 he moved to Quadra Island and lived at the lighthouse until the age of 5, then moving to the Richard's homestead.
He was predeceased by his parents Reginald and Jane, brothers Howard, Rob, Ben and his sister Jean. He leaves to mourn his wife of 54 years, Dody; his 5 children Reg (Barb), Darlene, Marg (Tom), George, Jane (Greg), 7 grandchildren, Owen, Melissa, Megan, Krista, Loren, Bradley and Eric, 2 great grandchildren, Caleb, Austyn, numerous nieces and nephews, and many good friends.
There will be no service at his request. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the SPCA or a charity of one's choice. He will be greatly missed. We love you dad.
We little knew that morning, that god was going to call your name.
In life we loved you dearly; in death we do the same.
It broke our hearts to lose you; you did not go alone.
For part of us went with you, the day God called you home.
You left us peaceful memories; your love is still our guide;
And though we cannot see you, you are always at our side.
Our family chain is broken and nothing seems the same,
But as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again.
