Mar 10, 2018
It is with great sadness that Raymond of Campbell River passed away on March 10, 2018, peacefully surrounded by family at the Campbell River General Hospital.

Ray was born in Arbourfield, Saskatchewan to Roland and Annie. He worked at the mine in Lynn Lake, Manitoba before moving to Campbell River in 1957, when he married Irene (McKenzie) and they raised their 3 children Darrell, Calvin and Laurie. He worked at the Pulp Mill from 1958 to 1998.

He became involved in the St. John's Ambulance, Campbell River Camera Club and Genealogy Club. He enjoyed photography so much that he had his own dark room built to develop his own pictures. He also helped start the Evergreen Boy Scouts Club and coached a girls' softball team for 3 years. Ray loved camping, fishing and hunting.

He is predeceased by parents, Roland and Annie; Sister Helen and brother-in-law Eddie Nelson.

He is survived by loving wife Irene of 60 years, brother Don, and Sister Joan, sons Darrell and Calvin (Ilona) and daughter Laurie (Stephen) Hasiuk. Grandchildren, Stephanie, Gordon, Ryan, Ezekiel, Aaron, Taylor and Rachel as well as 5 great grandchildren.

No service by request of family.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the BC Parkinson's Society (www.parkinson.bc.c) would be greatly appreciated.
