1941 – 2006
Raili Turunen passed away peacefully on June 30, 2006, dying suddenly of cancer. She leaves to mourn, her husband Yrjo Turunen, her son Ari (Kathy) Turunen of Abbotsford, Tuija (Alan) Dale of Campbell River, her grandchildren; Jennifer and Dex Seggie and Katie and Melanie Turunen, her brother Jussi (Ellen) Happonen of Sweden, her sisters; Ritva (Rudy) of New Glasgow, Pirjo (Seppo), Tarja (Martti) all of Finland, Merja (Berja) of Sweden and Kaisa (Robin) of Germany as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She worked for the school board for 14 years and loved her job and the people she worked with. Raili enjoyed fishing, hunting, mushroom picking, knitting and crocheting. Raili was a wonderful mother, the best wife and a loving and caring person. No flowers please – instead ,if you like, make a donation to a charity of your choice.
