R. Robert (Bob) King

May 10, 1938-Sept 16, 2012

Bob passed away peacefully in Campbell River, only 6 weeks after receiving a terminal cancer diagnosis. He is survived by his loving family.....wife, Robin, son, Troy, daughter, Rebecca, grandchildren, Reilly, Tony, Charlene, and Melodie, brother, Laurence, many nieces & nephews. He lived in Langley until university days, met & married Robin in 1960, received a Bachelor of Education from UBC, taught school in Surrey & Vernon for 9 years, followed by 25 years in real estate sales. In 2004, he moved to beautiful Campbell River, intending to continue his lifelong love of outdoor adventuring, enviromental protection, sharing his love of music and learning bridge.....soon becoming actively involved in community activities.

A paralysing stroke in 2006 seriously limited most of those activities, but not his love for life and the people around him. He loved his Community Centre bridge, providing musical entertainment at New Horizons & Evergreen, riding his recumbent tricycle on the seawalk and exploring, by walking with Robin, portions of the many peaceful & scenic nature trails around Campbell River.

There is no public Celebration of Life planned for Bob, as he chose to share and celebrate while still alive with family, distant friends and all his wonderful friends in Campbell River. The family wishes to thank, for all their help, Campbell River palliative care nurses, home support workers, and medical personnel participating in Bob's concluding weeks.

With his memory, may we all strive to live together with Love and Peace.
