Tony, a Campbell River resident for over 40 years, died peacefully at Campbell River Hospital on Friday, April 22, 2022, with family members by his side. Tony was born August 25, 1936, in England where he attended school until entering the Naval academy at age 14. He was a member of the Merchant Navy from age 16 as an apprentice deck officer.
After leaving the Merchant Navy he emigrated to Canada settling in BC where he pursued a variety of occupations including, boat building, electrician, mobile home installer and general handyman.
Tony loved to be on the water and spent any free time fishing and camping with Fay and Karen. His dream was to sail around the world in a boat he built.
Tony was predeceased by his wife Fay (nee Cooper); infant son Robin; son Ray, grandson Christopher, brother John and his parents Thomas Cole and Ethel Rye Kemsley.
Tony is survived by his brother Kevin of Boston, children: Karen (Gary); Barb; Ken (Debra); Shawna; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
The family wants to thank Dr. R. Ramsey, the Caregivers and nurses of Discovery Harbour Seniors Residence and CR Hospital 3rd floor B.
