It is with sadness that Phyllis's family share with you the passing of grandmother and great grandmother.
We could not have asked for a better mother and there will be a hole in our hearts forever. She touched many people in her 99 years of life, so may she be remembered with joy.
Predeceased by husband Alfred (Tim), sons Monty and Larry, Phyllis is survived by four children Al, Janet, Pat and Shon, numerous grandchildren and several great grandchildren. She is also survived by her younger sister Jean Tait of Courtenay.
Phyllis was an avid bowler and scored a perfect game at Mayfair Lanes in Victoria, a Blue Jays fan who never missed a game, even while in Hospice. She played on an all-women's baseball team with her sister Jean so an avid fan of baseball from a young age.
She enjoyed watching most sports but mostly enjoyed the Jays and Canucks. She was mother to many of her children's friends, it was known if you were looking for your teenager, call Phyllis. She was also known as Mom to all the Kelsey Bay basketball players who stayed at our home during the season.
The family would like to thank all the staff and volunteers at Victoria Hospice for the compassionate care provided during her stay. In lieu of flowers, any donations made to Victoria Hospice would be appreciated.
