December 31, 2024

In loving memory ~

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Phyllis Maude Ring on December 31, 2024. Over her 81 years with us, she touched the lives of many people. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and wife and leaves behind her husband Roger, sons Chris and Jeff, and grandchildren Taylor, Ava-Marie, and Matthew.

Phyllis was born in Edmonton and met her husband of 59 years in high school. She worked as a registered nurse and a mother while the family moved to Revelstoke in 1975 and then ultimately to Campbell River in 1982. She was always hard-working and especially dedicated to her family.

Phyllis volunteered for the BC Cancer Society for several years and was President of the local unit in the 1990's. They had one of the best fundraising teams on the Island at the time. She was one of the founding members of both the Revelstoke and Campbell River Genealogy Clubs. Phyllis had a great passion for genealogy and photo journalling. She loved to research family history and build out the family tree in her spare time. She made many connections along the way, and we will miss her deeply.

We would like to thank the staff at Evergreen Senior's Home for the professional care, kindness, and respect they gave to Phyllis.

The family has planned an informal gathering to celebrate her life on Saturday, February 15, 2025, any time between 2:30-4:30 pm at the Maritime Heritage Center at 621 Island Highway, Campbell River, BC. For those wanting to attend, please RSVP to rdring65@gmail.com, or call or text Roger @ 250-203-7893.

Remembrances can be made through contributions to Parkinson Canada.
