June 17, 2021
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mr. Peter Lynne Balcke, on Thursday, June 17, 2021, at the age of 66 years. Pete was someone who was very private in his personal life. But his friendships were so individual and true. He listened, and always made you feel like he was genuinely concerned. Pete cared about what was going on in everyone's lives. His legacy of friendship goes beyond words. You all know who you are and the thank you letters would take up pages! Pete will be extremely missed by so many! He was a very generous person and was always there for anyone who needed a hand. Pete was part of the Eagles of Campbell River and loved riding his motorcycle, organizing motorcycle events, curling, playing pool, fishing, and of course Nascar Racing events. He will be deeply missed by, his mom, Sydney Davis; his son, Dustin Balcke; his daughter, Stacey Stotts; his grandchildren, Tyson and Kallie; his brothers Mike (Deb) and Lance; and nieces and nephews, Keith, Kaelan, Jennifer, Autumn, Addison, Jaycee, Aspen, Amanda, Nathaniel, Samuel and Benjamin. On July 10, 2021, there will be a memorial ride and spreading of Pete's ashes. Meeting at Town and Pantry at 10:00 am and "kick stands-up" at 11:00 am for the Gold River Run. All are welcome, bike or no bike.
A special thanks to Steve Frame for starting a fundraiser with his firm. Other firms donated as well with a total of 32,000 dollars raised in Pete's name. The rotary club will decide how it will be disbursed.

"Friends are folks who stand by you
No matter what you say or do.
They help you up when you are down, They make you smile when you wear a frown. They share your hurt when you're in pain, They're your sunshine in the rain.
Friends are folks who are always near,
No matter what day, no matter what year. Whether troubles are big or troubles are small, They're always there for them all.
A true friend gives life a spark,
Like the silver lining when the clouds are dark." Ride Free Forever My Friend, Till We Meet Again
