Age 73 years of Campbell River, passed away after a long illness, December 29th, 2002, at Campbell River Hospital. He was born October 8th, 1929 in Grand Forks, the son of Andrew and Molly Gritchen. He grew up and received his education in Grand Forks. Peter moved to Campbell River in 1965 where he worked for the City of Campbell River as a maintenance man for many years. He also spent time working in logging camps. He took early retirement due to health problems. Peter was predeceased by his mother (1958), father (1975), sister, Polly (1982) and brother, Paul (1995). He is survived by his companion of 30 years, Frances Maslowski, 2 sisters, Anne Popoff of Christina Lake, Mary Balbon of Campbell River and by numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. The funeral service was held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, January 3rd, 2003, at Toews Funeral Home Chapel. Interment followed in the U.S.C.C. Cemetery.
