Pearl Palmer

January 30, 1939 – September 14, 2011

It is with sad hearts that the family of Pearl Palmer announces the peaceful passing of Pearl on September 14th at the age of 72. She was predeceased by her parents, Cecil and Edna Cochran and is remembered with love by her husband Stan, four children Terry (Don Dobson), Rod (Amy), Greg (Tina) and Kathy (Mark McKay), eleven grandchildren Justin, Marisa, Emily, Zachary, Marie, Rachael, Jillian, David John, Caeli, Brynn, Broedy, three great grandchildren, sister May (Bud Woodman) and many other special friends and family.

Pearl was born in Kamloops, BC. Her father’s work with BC Power brought them to Campbell River in 1952 where she lived at the John Hart Townsite. Soon after, she met and married her devoted husband of many years, Stan Palmer. Pearl was dedicated and passionate in all that she undertook. Her varied career included working at Simpson Sears, assisting as a teacher’s aide and helping as a victim assistance worker. Pearl became a successful entrepreneur by starting her own preschool and establishing a highly regarded Bed and Breakfast in Willow Point.

Pearl would say that her greatest accomplishment was her family and this was her life long focus. She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother who treasured the love and laughter that filled her home.

At Pearl’s request a memorial service will not be held. Memorial tributes may be made in her memory directly to: BC Lung Association, 2675 Oak St., Vancouver, BC, V6H 2K2 (Telephone 1-800-665-5864) www.bc.lung.ca.
