A Wonderful Man – Pat Wiens

May 6, 1939 – Nov. 5, 2009

A wonderful man was taken from us on November 5th, 2009. The love Pat gave to everyone that knew him was endless. Pat’s love is missed so much from his wife Louise and his faithful and loving dog “Haida”. Pat also leaves his sister Carolyn; brother Les; many nieces and nephews and many friends. Pat built his own boat, rods and flies and in archery made his own bows and arrows. He loved golfing and enjoyed everyone he met. No service or cards by request but donations made in Pat’s memory to the Fish and Game Club would be appreciated.

For those I love – FOR THOSE THAT LOVE ME

When I am gone, release me, let me go.

I have so many things to see and do.

You mustn’t tie yourself to me with tears;

Be happy that we had so many years.

I gave you my love. You can only guess

How much you gave me of happiness.

I thank you for the love you all have shown,

But now it’s time I travelled on alone.

So grieve a while for me, if grieve you must,

Then let your grief be comforted by trust.

It’s only for a while that we must part,

So bless the memories within your heart.

I won’t be far away, for life goes on;

So if you need me, call and I will come.

Though you can’t see or touch me, I’ll be near,

And if you listen with your heart, you’ll hear

All of my love around you, soft and clear.

And then, when you must come this way alone,

I’ll greet you with a smile and “Welcome Home”.
