Pat joined her husband Alvin in the early morning hours of January 13, 2006 after a brave battle with cancer. She was predeceased by Al in 1995, and her great grandson Corey Carpentier in 2005.

Pat is survived by her sons William (Lin) of Maple Ridge, BC, Mickey (Darileen) formerly of Woss BC, but now in Girouxville, Alberta, and Glenn (Tracy) of Campbell River, BC, her Grandchildren Marie, Scott, Tracy, Tristan, and Gillian, and her Great Grandchildren Keegan, Taylor, Kirsten, and Kennedy. She is also survived by her brother Royden Hill of Edmonton, and her niece Linda (Vaughn) Baechler of Campbell River, and many more nieces and nephews in Canada and the United States.

Pat was born in Fort William, Ontario. She married Al in 1942, and worked in war plants before enlisting in the Women’s Royal Canadian Naval Service where she served in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

In British Columbia since 1950, Pat lived in Penticton, Ocean Falls, Campbell River, and Maple Ridge. Over the years she was active in organizations in all of the communities she lived in. In Campbell River they included Trinity Presbyterian Church, the Canadian Cancer Society, the Heart and Stroke Club, the Old Age Pensioners Society, and the Royal Canadian Legion.

The family would like to thank Dr. Carswell, the friends who visited her, the Campbell River Home Care Support staff, the Home Care Nurses, the nurses of 3 North, and Reverend Green.

A celebration of Pat’s life will be held at Trinity Presbyterian church, 145 Simms Road this morning, Wednesday, January 18 th at 11:30 AM.
