It is with sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Joan Costello on Oct. 15 at the age of 80. Joan was born August 27, 1942, in Chemainus, BC to her loving parents Roy and Alice Bishop.
Joan spent her early adult life living in Vancouver where she began her family. It was here that she met Jim who was visiting from Gold River. Love ensued and she moved back to Vancouver Island, where they started their life together in Campbell River.
Sadly, Jim passed away in the spring of 2021.
As a survivor of cancer, Joan spent her most recent years as a volunteer for the Canadian Cancer Society as well as the BC Heart and Stroke Foundation.
Her dedication to these causes did not go unnoticed and she was presented the "Good Deeds" volunteer award from the City of Campbell River.
Left to mourn are her children and their families; Chris (Heather), Laura (Glenn), and her grandchildren, Jacob, Kayla, Hannah, Macy, and Charles.
