“Papa”

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved Papa at Royal Jubilee Hospital in Victoria, BC. Left to mourn him are sons Gordon (Laurie); and Bruce; Daughter Norma Jean (Brian); eleven grandchildren and his brother Doug (Jean); sisters Kathy and Robin plus numerous special friends.
A life long resident of Vancouver Island, Papa was born in Port Alice and spent his early years in Victoria before moving to Black Creek in 1975. He was employed by Timber West in Campbell River until his retirement in 2004. In Papas later years his greatest joy came from enjoying and supporting his many grandkids in all their numerous activities.
A celebration of Papas life will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2009 at 1:00 pm at Piercy’s Funeral Home, 440 England Avenue, Courtenay, BC. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation.
