Passed away in Campbell River on Friday, April 2, 2004 at the age of 63 years. He was predeceased by his parents; Henry Daniel Chan and Agnes Chan (nee Chung), brother Victor Chan (Catherine), Clarence Chan (Ruby) and sister; Margaret Chan. Ossie is survived by his wife; Desiree Waveney Chan (nee Kwok), son; Henry Chan (Susanna Yiu) of Ottawa, Ontario, daughter; Roxanne Chan of Churchill, Manitoba, granddaughter; Stephanie Chan of Churchill, Manitoba, brother; Percy Chan of Toronto, Wilfred Chan (Audrey) of Trinidad, West Indies, Harold Chan (Marina) of Jamacia, West Indies, Randolph Chan (Mary) of Toronto, sister; Doris Li of Toronto and many nieces and nephews. Ossie was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion - Branch 137, Campbell River and the Elks Lodge, Campbell River. He worked over 20 years in the mining industry. Ossie enjoyed fishing, hunting, stamp collecting, and ice fishing. He was a private person who enjoyed the company of family and close friends. A Funeral Service under the direction of ISLAND FUNERAL SERVICES/ELK FALLS CREMATORIUM, 103 - 909 ISLAND HIGHWAY will be held at St. Peter’s Anglican Church, 228 Dogwood Street, Campbell River on Tuesday, April 6, 2004 at 1:30 p.m. Donations in Ossie’s memory can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Unit B-1423-16 Ave., Campbell River, BC.
