Passed away peacefully August 17, 2016, age 79, at the New Horizons Care Home in Campbell River, BC. Predeceased by his parents Aurel (1965) and Mabel (1987) Duval and brother Ronald (2009). Survived by his beloved wife, Claudette and their daughter Naomi, brother David Duval, three children from his first marriage: Gabrielle, Michelle and Christopher and five grandchildren.

Norm served in the RCAF for approximately five years and after attending teachers’ college at the University of Toronto, he taught electricity at Roland Michener and at Northern College in South Porcupine where he met his future wife, Claudette, He moved to Campbell River to teach at North Island College, subsequently working as an electrical contractor in Canada, the US and Tanzania and as electrical superintendent at various pulp and paper mills in BC. Later in his career, he provided computer-based training modules to the forest industry.

The family is deeply appreciative of the care provided by Dr. Stephen Lebeuf and by staff members at New Horizons who always treated him royally.

Donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association will be gratefully acknowledged by the family. No service by request. Cremation to take place.
