Nina Hinton
May 18, 1921-January 11, 2014
Nina Hinton passed away peacefully on January 11,
2014 at the age of 92 years. Nina was born to parents Domna and Emilian Matiko on May 18, 1921 in Bordon, SK.
Nina married the love of her life, Horace Hinton, on December 24, 1942. After they were married, they
spent many years in the Nimpkish Valley, where Nina
worked with Canfor, later moving to Delta, BC. She
was also a Licensed Practical Nurse at the Surrey
Memorial Hospital for several years. Nina retired to
Wynndel in 1985 and pursued her love of gardening
and involvement in church activities.
She was a life-time member of the Seventh-day
Adventist Church, an avid gardener and an awesome
chef! She also really enjoyed doing crafts.
Nina was predeceased by her husband, Horace; sisters
Mary Berden, Sandra McPherson and Ruby Babcock;
brothers Nick Matiko, Pete Matiko and Edward Matiko.
She will be lovingly remembered by her sister Ann Whitley and brother Lawrence Matiko, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held later in the spring.
