Morven SCOTT

October 16, 1920 – July 28, 2008

Morven Scott went to join Bill early in the morning of July 28, 2008.

Morven was born to Alexander and Myrette Robertson on October 16, 1920 in Edinburgh, Scotland and was raised in Dalmally.

Morven was an x-ray technician and physiotherapist and worked in the hospital on the Clyde during and after the war. She married William Alexander Cameron Scott on August 12, 1944 and had two children, John Robertson, born in Margate, Kent, England and Ann Cameron, born in Comox, B.C.

Morven spent the happiest years of her life working alongside Bill in his veterinary practices, first in Wales, then Kent, England and finally immigrating to Canada in 1951, here in the Comox Valley. Together they built the Comox Valley Animal Hospital.

Morven was a keen gardener and loved and cared for all her animals. Upon Bill’s retirement, Morven and Bill bred and raised Thoroughbred race horses, a pursuit she continued to her death.

Morven loved tennis, as a player in her younger years and later as an avid fan. Morven enjoyed Rotary Anns while Bill was a member of Rotary.

Morven had two desires in her life. She wished to come to Canada where her father had spent most of his life culminating in a ranch in Alberta. A photo of Banff Lodge hung over the fireplace in her childhood home. And second, she wanted to have her own family. She tirelessly supported Bill and her children in all of their endeavours.

Morven will be sadly missed by her son John (Iris); daughter Ann (Murray); as well as her grandchildren Peter (Brenda), Heidi (Tim), Trevor, Cindy (Jan), Nikki (Wes), Jamie (Jessie) and Steve (Kristy); great-grandchildren Milly, Edward, Kailena, Thea, Kolby, Izzy; Godchildren, Diane Kasdorf (Farquarson), Simon Stubbs and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Thank you to People at Home, who provided loving care to Morven up to her passing. Your kindness will not be forgotten.

Please don’t worry about any of your pets that are gone. Bill and Morven are just across the Rainbow Bridge caring for them until you come.

A Memorial Service was held on Thursday, July 31, 2008 at St. George’s United Church with Rev. Ray Brandon officiating.

Your condolences will be approved within one business day. You will need a valid Facebook account. Please email us if you have any questions.
