He leaves behind, Peggy, his loving wife and partner of 52 years; her daughter Orchid Mazurkiewicz, (Tim), LA, CA; brother, Tom, (Darlene) Kitchener, ON; brother, Bob, (Sharon) Lake Cowichan, BC; sister, Laura, Kansas City, MO; sister-in-law, Kay McDonald, (Mick) Rockton, ON; sister-in-law, Ruth Lee, Rockton, ON; and brother-in-law, David, (Hannelore), Cochrane, ON; and cherished relatives and friends.
Moe was predeceased by his parents, George and Marjorie Barber, Brantford, ON; his father and mother-in-law, Elgin and Mary Smith, Rockton, ON; and brother-in-law Doug Lee, Rockton, ON.
Moe was a big man, with a great sense of humour, appearing a tad gruff at times, hiding a soft side. Moe had many interests. He enjoyed sports, participating in many, including hunting, fishing, stock car racing, hockey and curling. He loved his Harleys and being outdoors, always looking to find what was on the other side of that hill.
Moe loved animals, dogs being his favourite, and in his later years even confessed being attached to Spooky, the cat.
He was a boilermaker for the last 27 years of his working life and was active in his union. Boilermaking was an occupation that allowed him to travel, making many good friends over the years.
For the past 10 years Moe coped with deteriorating health, but he seldom lost his sense of humour. Visits from friends and family were always special for him.
A Celebration of Moe's Life will be held at a later date.
