Mieczyslaw (Michael) BAK

September 23, 2007

BAK,

Mieczyslaw (Michael)

 July 13,1926 –

September 23, 2007

It is with great sadness that the family of Michael Bak announce the passing of our beloved husband and father.

Mike passed away suddenly at home on September 23, 2007 at the age of 81.

Born in Lasochow, Poland on July 13, 1926, he emigrated to Canada in 1951 and found his new home in Ocean Falls, BC.  The love of his life Joyce (Smith) joined him in 1954 after traveling to Vancouver from Manchester, England, where they were finally married & then began their life together in Ocean Falls.  Shortly afterwards their children Richard and Christine were born & the family shared many happy years together there, and later in Campbell River after moving there in 1973.

Mike was a good guy whose smile, sense of humour, generosity, and kindness touched the hearts of all who knew him. He loved the outdoors, and  spent as much time as he could hunting, fishing and puttering in his garden.

Mike is survived by and will lovingly be missed by his wife Joyce, his son Richard, his daughter Christine Robinson, and his son-in-law Sheldon. He will also be missed by his best friend of 55 years, Frank Inglin, and the “Delvecchio Road gang” who meant so much to him.  He also leaves behind many family members in Poland, and many friends in Canada.

A service was held on Thursday, September 27 at St. Patrick’s Church and a Celebration of Mike’s Life will follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to do so, may give a donation to a charity of their choice..

The family would also like to thank the Home Care team for all their care and kindness, especially to Shirley of whom he was so fond.
