It is with great sadness that the family of Michael Barley announce his passing. After a hard battle with cancer Michael has gone on to the next adventure.
He is survived by his wife Lynn, son Tyrell, and daughter Jolyn as well as his son Cole Desjarlais (Trish) and grandsons Lawrence and Levi. Sisters Benita (Ken) and Jean. Niece and nephews Gordon, Chance, Jonathan and Miranda as well as many other extended family.
Michael was born and raised in Parry Sound, ON and at 17 joined the PPCLI, 3rd Battalion as an infantryman and qualified sniper. He was also a marksman and competed for Canada. He later transferred to the Air Force and became a professional photographer, excelling in both aerial and underwater video and stills. After a full career in the Military, Michael devoted himself to his family.
Life was an adventure with Michael, he loved the outdoors and was always up for a challenge. He was a woodsman, horseman, builder, scuba diver, explorer, fisherman, sailor and a wonderful singer and musician. Above all, he was a loving father and husband. He will be sorely missed.
Michael will be remembered at an informal celebration to be held in the family home on Sat., Feb 3rd, 2018. 250-923-8863
