Mary Winnifred (Nee Davies)

Born at Liverpool, England June 8, 1910.

Mary passed away at Parksville February 18, 2004. She will be missed by her husband Don, Nanoose Bay; her son and daughter-in-law Art and Gail Thomson of Kamloops, her daughter Carolyn Walker and her spouse Bryan Stovell of Nanaimo; her grandchildren; Ed Walker of Comox, Susan Walker and David Charlton of Calgary, Jennifer Thomson and Chris Bayley of Sooke and by Ryan Thomson of Kamloops. They will recall Mary’s life, love for animals, her quick wit and lively sense of humour for her great grandsons, Scott and Gregory Charlton. Mary came with Don to Nanoose bay in 1976 following her retirement from School District 72 (Campbell River). During her active retirement years Mary was an avid bridge player, a voracious reader and a prolific writer. She was an enthusiastic member of Parksville’s Spindrift Writer’s Club. Excerpts from Mary’s often hilarious, always memorable stories will be read for the enjoyment of those who gather to remember her at 2:00p.m. Saturday, February 28, 2004 at the Heron’s Dining Room, Bayside Inn, 240 Dogwood, Parksville, BC.
