April 14, 1938 - November 21, 2018
Rose Hanson of the Homalco First Nation, April 14, 1938 passed away peacefully on November 21, 2018 in Chilliwack, B.C. She is survived by her two daughters Lorna Craig (Eric Peppiatt) and Loretta (Mark) Landmesser, grandchildren, Lyn (Braedon), Julia, Emily, Aren & Amalie. As well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Rose was predeceased by her husband of 50 years Lawrence (Lorne) Larry Lee, mother Theresa Hanson and father Albert Hanson, sisters Jean (John) Hanson and Nora (Jimmy) Blaney, and brothers Alfred (Theresa), Jack (Eva) Hanson and Johnny (Marge) Hanson, and grandson Aiden Landmesser.

Rose led a very diverse life. She was born in Redonda Bay and married Lorne in Church House, BC. Over the years, she worked in a number of different jobs - she shucked oysters and worked in fish canneries, she picked berries, worked the land, and her final career was providing Elder care for the elders of the Sto:lo First Nation. Rose will be remembered for her stories, her talents in cooking, baking, sewing and making cedar roses. Rose had a generous soul and always made friends wherever she went. A generous friend, beloved mother and granny (grandma), Rose will be missed by many.

Special Thank-You to the staff at Sto:lo Elders Lodge and the staff of Chilliwack General Hospital Emergency ward, particularly nurses, Travis & Suzanne along with Elder Francis Horne. Thanks as well to Mclean's Funeral Service.

A celebration for Rose was held on Sunday November 25, 2018. The family is grateful for all those came and shared stories. Gratitude to those that traveled a distance to attend.

For those who wish, a donation can be to Salvation Army (Chilliwack) in Rose's honour.

Emote.
