October 14, 1925-September 20, 2014

Mary Helen (Parfitt) Soucie passed away peacefully on September 20, 2014 at the age of 88. Mary was born, October 14, 1925, and raised in Manitoba. She and her husband Clifford moved to Campbell River 21 years ago from Winnipeg, Manitoba, to enjoy retirement and to be close to her family. Mary was a beautiful individual with a great sense of humour. She was always busy, busy, busy and that did not stop with retirement. In her lifetime she joined various groups such as the Eagles and Foresters and she did countless hours of volunteerism. Upon arriving in Campbell River, she immediately immersed herself in the community with volunteerism and other groups and soon made friends.

Her heart was filled with her love for her husband Clifford of 38 years, her daughter Shirley (Kerry) Warburton, grandchildren Teresa (Jason) Swain, Shoana (Joel) Mountford, and great-grandchildren Colton, Victoria, Hannah and Meagan, and her lovely sisters Hazel and Shirley and their families back in Manitoba. She was predeceased by her son Douglas McMillan and grandson Dale Campbell. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She touched the lives of everyone she came into contact with and she will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

At Mary’s request, the family will be having a private arrangement. Flowers are gratefully declined and if you wish to make a donation in Mary’s name to the Canadian Cancer Society that would be appreciated. The family would like to thank all of those who offered prayers, comfort and support. And special thanks to Dr. Rowe and the staff on 3 North for such wonderful medical care.

Mary, God be with you ‘til we meet again.
