Marton George Kovacs
March 20, 1931 – January 30, 2009
Passed away in Campbell River on Friday, January 30, 2009. He was predeceased by Charlene Matthews and Jason Maximick, survived by his loving wife Barbara Kovacs, daughters Maureen (Dan), Barbara (Henry), Rose (Larry), Nadine, Lorna (George), Cindy (Harold), Lorraine (Bob), 20 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren.
Marton worked at Westmin for over 20 years retiring at 65. He loved the outdoors and fishing, which was a big part of his life. Marton loved all his girls and grandchildren and was a great dad and grandpa. He had a good sense of humour, was easy to get along with and was friendly with a big heart.
A celebration of Marton’s life will take place at the Eagles Hall on Sunday, February 8th, at 3:00 p.m.
The family would like to thank Dr. Phipps, the nurses and staff at Yucalta Lodge for their care during Marton’s stay. No flowers by request, but for those wishing, donations may be made to the Yucalta Lodge, or a charity of your choice.
