Gail Christensen passed away at Campbell River General Hospital at 1:00am, April 27th, 2010 after her 4 month fight with Leukemia. She was pre-deceased by her Mother Alpha Matthews (1965) and Father Em Matthews (1993).

Gail is survived by her loving husband of 40 years Wayne Christensen. Brother and Sister-in-law Iner and Lillian Christensen and many more extended family members.

Gail was an original Camp Five kid, spending her first 10 years there. She had many cherished memories of Friends and family having spent her life in Campbell River. She spent a few of her young adult years working for the Campbell River School District, but she would tell you her biggest accomplishment in life was the family she so proudly raised. Gail was known by all who knew her as a caring, loving, compassionate soul.

The family would like to thank a few special people who made Gail’s last few months a little more comfortable. All the Ladies at the Campbell River Hospital Medical Daycare Center, Dennis from Willow Point Peoples Drug Mart, Dr, J. Kask, and Campbell River Hospitals 3 South’s nursing Staff.

Your Caring and Compassion was greatly appreciated and will never be forgotten by our family.

We would also like to thank Anna Peck. You are Gail’s best friend, Hospice worker and family rock. The strength and love that you have given to our family will stay in our hearts forever.

A celebration of Gail’s life will be held at The Oyster Bay Resort, 4357 South Island Hwy, between 2 & 4pm Sunday May 2, 2010.
