Marlene passed suddenly on Saturday November 21st, 2009 at Campbell River General Hospital. Marlene leaves behind her husband George, son Arthur, brother Fred (Karen), sister Esther (Don) and numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends. Marlene was predeceased by her mother Lucy, father Fred, Sister Joan and son Lorne.
Marlene was a kind soul who loved family functions and adored the company of children. She was a talented crafter and cook and had a gift for making the people who shared her company feel special. Marlene will be missed by many and forgotten by none.
If tears could build a stairway and memories were a lane
We would walk right up to heaven and bring you back again
No farewell words were spoken, no time to say good-bye
You were gone before we knew it and only god knows why.
Since you’ll never be forgotten we pledge to you today
A cherished place within our hearts is where you’ll always stay.
There will be no formal service as per request of the family. A small gathering will be set at a later date and is left to be announced. In lieu of flowers the family asks that a donation be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
