It is with great sadness that Marian’s family announces her passing. She passed away peacefully on January 30th at Campbell River General Hospital, with her husband at her side. She is survived by her husband Frank Brusatore, sons Craig of Campbell River and Kevin, in Whitehorse, daughter Susan of Coombs, BC and her stepchildren Tony, Patricia and Sherry. She had 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. She is survived by her sisters June Birdsell in Winnipeg, Isabelle Haasbeek in Houston,TX, and brothers Gerry and Bill Llewellyn in Winnipeg.
Marian was a remarkable woman who loved life and passionately cared for her family as they were the ones most important to her. She had a great sense of humor and gentle nature. Her positive attitude was a joy to all. She will be truly missed by everyone whom she touched.
Marian was born in Lethbridge, Alberta and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba before moving to BC in 1957. She spent her years living in Vancouver, Victoria, Tsawwassen, Fort St James, and Campbell River. She spent over 25 years working as a clerk and cashier for Safeway Stores in Vancouver, Tsawwassen and Campbell River, starting in the early 60’s and continuing through the 80’s before moving to Aldergrove, BC with her husband. Upon Frank’s retirement in 2010, they decided to return and enjoy Campbell River.
Marian spent many happy times traveling to other parts of the world with her husband and friends. Some of her favorite places were Hawaii, Italy, Greece, China and cruising to exotic places.
Marian was a dedicated life-long member of the Beta Sigma Phi sorority in Campbell River and Abbotsford and was active on many of their tours and gatherings. She was also an enthusiastic member of the “Red Ripple Rockers” of the Campbell River Red Hat Society and enjoyed the many social events.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Kidney Foundation of Canada would be appreciated.
There will be a Celebration of Life for Marian in the Carriage Room of the Royal Coachman Pub on Saturday, May 7, 2016 starting at 12:30pm. All are welcome to attend.
