Maria peacefully passed away the morning of July 4, 2019 in Campbell River at the age of 92. She is predeceased by her beloved husband Marian and her sister Slawka.
Born January 28, 1927 in Krasne Bilgoraj, Poland, she came to Canada in1949 to Ocean Falls, BC where there she met and married her beloved husband Marian and started their family.
While living in Ocean Falls she enjoyed boating, fishing, gardening and canning. Many good memories were made in Ocean Falls. After the mill closed Maria and Marian moved their family to Campbell River, where new and old friendships continued to bloom like her garden.
She has left behind to mourn her daughter Theresa and son Bernard (Kathy). She will be especially missed by her grandchildren Christopher (Meredith) and Tanya (Rick) and her great grandchildren Nayland, Anastasia, Austen, Noah and Katiyanna, as well as her sisters Emilka and Stefania and many nieces and nephews in Poland.
She will be greatly missed by all those that knew and loved her and she will be forever remembered in our hearts as one very independent, strong and remarkable woman.
The family would like to thank Dr. Yang and the nursing staff who cared for Mom during her stay in the hospital.
Funeral services to be at St. Patrick's Catholic Church at 12 noon on Thursday July 11, 2019.
