Margaret was born December 8, 1926 in Laross, Saskatchewan. Raised by a widowed single Mom during the depression, and having lived in a number of locations on Vancouver Island, the Lower Mainland and the Okanagan, Margaret had a practical outlook on life. On August 27, 1952 she married the one love of her life, Stuart Chapman and lived on Stuart Island until Stuart’s death in 1968. With two children to raise, Margaret moved to Campbell River in 1969 where she got work with School Dist 72 as a custodian. After retirement, Margaret was active in the Campbell River Genealogy Society, Campbell River Fish and Wildlife Assn, and the Ripple Rock Power Squadron. Margaret was pre-deceased by her husband Stuart, October 9,1968, her Mother Irene Jonas in 1971 and her brother Ken Jonas in 1990. She is survived and will be forever missed by her children Lorraine Cox (Greg) and Arran Chapman (Janice), her sister Irene Wilson, her grandchildren Dayton Cox (Jody-Lynn), Brittany Cox (Chris Richardson), Stuart Chapman (Lisa Clarke) and Darcie Chapman (Brandon Nielsen) and her two great grandsons Logan Humphries and Dreaden Cox. A service of remembrance will be held at Suttons Funeral Home, Saturday July 23, 2011 at 11:00 AM. Refreshments to follow at Noon at the Elks Lodge, just across the parking lot. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada or to the Campbell River Hospital.
