Jul 19, 1924 - Jan 10, 2018
Born in Wheatley Hill, County Durham, England, in the summer of 1924.

Came to Canada with her parents George and Margaret High and her 4 older brothers, George, William, Andrew, and Robert, in 1925, eventually settling in Cumberland BC., where she would become a big sister to two more siblings, Jack and May.

Married Albert (Ted) Farmere in 1944, (predeceased 2012). Resided in Comox BC for more than 60 yrs. and was well known for her generosity, her dependability as well as her hospitality there.

Early in their marriage they studied the Bible with Jehovah's Witnesses and became lifelong faithful dedicated ministers, helping others to learn about Jehovah, and his son Christ Jesus, sharing the good news of God's Kingdom promises for the earth, as well as the earthly resurrection hope with many others. Always a busy person, but time for everyone, and cared deeply for her family, relatives and friends, past and present. She loved flowers and nature, getting out in the woods, picking mushrooms, or going beach combing; loved collecting cobalt blue glass; loved many pets over the years; hated snow unless it was to build a snowman for the kids!

Loving music, she whistled and sang daily, and loved playing the guitar. Being a great cook, she always had a good meal or raspberry jam, on the go. And the house always warm!

Mother, Wife, Sister, Auntie Peggy, Gramma, Great- gram, she now rests in God's memory.

Loved and missed by many. She is survived by her 3 children: Roy(Carol), Robert, Shirley (Lorne Alexander); Also by 8 grandchildren: Raymon, Maria, Kimberley, Kristen, Racquel (Chris), Lance, Brandon (Nicole), and Joseph. Also by 12 great-grandchildren: Shea-Lynn, Rainah, Daniel, Hanna, Lexy, Tristan, Evan, Liam, Aidan, Caileigh, Ava, and Everlee.

Thank you to her care staff for the past three years at New Horizons in Campbell River.

No service by request. Please reminisce and honour her over a cup of tea or coffee and remember how she always had the kettle on for you.
