It is with sincere sadness the family of Mabel wish to announce her peaceful passing in Surrey Memorial Hospital.

Mabel was predeceased by Arthur, her husband for 60 years, their first born son Lawrence, their youngest son Melvin and daughter-in-law Judy.

Survived and lovingly missed by sisters, Anna, Eva, sister-in-law Diane, sons Robert (June), Lenard (Josie), Melvin’s widow Dorothy, grand children Greg (Karen), Tara (Paul), Brian, Sonia (Bobby), Steven (Lisa), Michael (Peggi Shepherd), Julia (Lynda McKay), along with great grandchildren Tim, Kevin, Jobe, Eden, Sophia, James, and Lily, nieces, nephews and many friends.

Mabel moved with her family to Willow Point in 1945 and was involved with many community activities. She was one of the founding members of Bethany Lutheran Church and loved the fellowship she had with the ladies who quilted every week for World Relief. Labourers for Christ, Happy Wanderers, Lighthouse Circle and many other church groups that were very special to her.

She enjoyed travelling to Scotland, Hawaii, Alaska, Caribbean, all across Canada (Churchill’s polar bears), many places in the USA, with visits to relatives and friends everywhere.

Mabel was the greatest cook, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a friend to anyone who knew her. She will remain in all of our hearts forever.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, October 22nd at Bethany Lutheran Church, 201 Birch St.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to Bethany Lutheran Church or the Diabetes Association would be appreciated.
