Mrs. M. Elizabeth (Bobby) Ballantyne passed away quietly at the Campbell River Hospital on November 20th, 34 days before her 95th birthday. She lived a good life.

She was born in Vancouver and moved to Cortes Island as a young woman. After WW2 she and her husband Bill settled in Courtenay raising two sons Peter and Ross. In the late 1950s they returned to Whaletown on Cortes Island where they fished for many years on the gulf troller “Viking”. During that time many young “deckhands” spent time aboard during summer vacations and remained her friends until this day. On retirement, Campbell River became their home.

She is survived by sons Peter (Trudy) New Westminster BC; Ross (Mora) Sydney, Nova Scotia; grandsons Graham (Holly; Brendan. Bobby was predeceased by her Husband Bill.

At her request, no services will be held. Donations in her memory to the charity of your choice.
