Born "Luella Gertrude Emma Schultz” on March 25, 1924 near Wayburn Saskatchewan, our beloved mother passed away peacefully at 86 years of age on April 15, 2010 in Campbell River, British Columbia.

Luella was predeceased by both her 1st husband George Sumner and by her 2nd husband William Kelly. She is also predeceased by her parents and brothers Gordon, Gilbert, Clarence, and Edward Schultz, and her sisters Viola and Marlene.

She is survived by her sons Ray (Christine) Sumner and Jim Sumner and her step-children Walter, Grace, Isabel, and David. She leaves her grandchildren Christina, Randy, Angie, Victoria, Sherry, Deanna, and Danielle as well as numerous great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Darlene Holstrum of Mission, BC. and many other relatives, including Sandy Sumner and special friends Jean Thompson and Toni Carruthers.

Special Thanks to the Evergreen Seniors Home for their compassion and care in her final years, and also to the nursing staff for their patience and understanding.

The family would appreciate donations in lieu of flowers to the Evergreen Seniors Home.

A Funeral Service will be held at Sutton’s Campbell River Funeral Home, 502 South Dogwood Street at 11am Sat., April 24th with a burial to follow at 1pm at Courtenay Municipal Cemetery.
