In Loving Memory ~
1945 ~ 2025
We are deeply saddened to inform you of the passing of Cindy Simpson. She had recently celebrated her 80th birthday in the company of family and numerous friends. We will always hold dear the memories of Cindy's joyful laughter, generous spirit, love, and her remarkable ability to bring light to even the bleakest days.
Cindy was a teacher by profession, but she was also passionate about badminton, gardening, theatre, knitting and travelling. Her legacy includes her unwavering commitment to Badminton BC, KidSport British Columbia, the 55+ BC Games, and her volunteer hours at the Red Cross.
Cindy will be deeply missed by her daughter, Deb, son Scott, granddaughter Grace, her youngest sister Kathy, her in-laws in Ontario, along with her nieces, nephews, extended family, the friends she cherished as family, and, of course, Mya, her four-legged companion.
Special thanks to the Campbell River Hospital staff, the physicians of Hillside Medical Centre and the Rehab Team at the Nanaimo Hospital for their care of Cindy as she battled against the effects of the stroke she suffered in September 2024.
A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date. Flowers gratefully declined. Memorial donations can be made in Cindy's honour to KidSport British Columbia, the Canadian Red Cross and Heart & Stroke.
