Passed away at home in Campbell River on Sunday, January 4th, 2004. Luciano was born in Italy on August 11th, 1927. He was 76.


He is predeceased by son Riccardo and is survived by his loving wife Dora of 54 years; son Al (Karen) D’Alessandro, daughter Cosetta D’Alessandro, both of Campbell River. Grandchildren Karen (Dennis), Korina (Raj), Erica (Dan), Germayne (Shawn), Christian (Kerry), Richard (Charlene), Adrian (Rachel), Anea (Anne), Aaron, Kiley; Great grandchildren Ashley, Taylor, Scotia, Riccardo, Cassidy, Corey, Brianna, Deja, Inara; sisters Armanda (Ansano) Lunardi and Ilva Pardini, both of Italy, together with many nieces and nephews in Italy.


Luciano came to Canada in 1951 and worked in the mines in the Yukon. In 1952 he moved the rest of his family to Campbell River where he worked for Elk River Timber for several years until getting a trade as a bricklayer, and then worked for Ralph Boyd Masonry. In 1966 he started working at Elk Falls and was there for 25 years, until he retired in 1991. Luciano loved to fish and make wine, and enjoyed the time he spent with the Italian Culture Society. He will be ever loved and sadly missed by all. The family would like to thank Dr. Walker and all of the home care nurses who provided such excellent care.


Prayers will be offered from St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church on Wednesday, January 7th at 7:00 p.m. where mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, January 8th, at 11:00 a.m. by Father William MacDonald, O.M.I. Cremation will follow with fellowship and refreshments in the church hall.
