Lloyd W. Gregory

March 29, 2016

August 21, 1920 - March 29, 2016

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband and father Lloyd Gregory at Yucalta Lodge in Campbell River where he resided for the past 4.5 years. Lloyd had suffered with Alzheimers and was in care for the last 8.5 years of his life. Born in Vancouver, Lloyd graduated from Vancouver Technical School and enlisted in the RCAF, serving his country overseas during World War 2. Upon his return, Lloyd attended and graduated from Northwest Baptist Theological College, received a calling to minister in Campbell River and moved here with his family in 1951. While employed on construction of the Elk Falls Mill he started his ministry at the Scout Hall as the Campbell River Baptist Church. In 1954 Lloyd and Freda opened Lloyd’s Do It Your Self Shop in Campbellton which later became Lloyd’s Interiors. In 1988 Lloyd and Freda retired and moved to Vancouver to enjoy time with their grandchildren.

Lloyd is survived by Freda, his beloved wife of 73 years, children Tim (Stella), Sherry Anderson (Bob), Kevan , Brian, Rick (Carol) and Cindy Gleeson (Bill), 9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

The family wish to thank Dr. Ian Marsh and all the care-givers at Yucalta Lodge for their tender care of “Pastor Lloyd” until his passing.

In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations to the Alzheimer’s Society of BC or Yucalta Lodge Auxiliary.

Memorial Service will be held on April 9, 2016, 2:00 pm at the Campbell River Baptist Church where he served as Pastor.
