The family would like to announce the passing of a great man, Lloyd Nelson. He has finally been welcomed into the arms, and is seeing face to face, his Lord & Saviour Jesus Christ, whom he accepted into his heart at 33 years of age. He has been a willing and faithful servant since that day and has never looked back.
He enjoyed many things in his life. His one love was hunting. He loved building houses with his wife. He also loved teaching Sunday School and telling people about Jesus. He spent almost everyday for the last 10 years having coffee at Tim Horton's, where everyone knew him.
He did different kinds of jobs, like 17 years at the Pulp Mill, but his real love was as a stucco man, which he did for most of his working years.
He did a lot of volunteer work and loved to help people. He spent many years serving and attending Nanoose Bay Pentecostal Camp. He also did a lot of repairing and rebuilding of the old camp into the camp it is today.
Papa moved to Campbell River in 1947, married to the same woman, Greta, for 68 years this July 5. He raised 3 daughters, Maureen, Frances, and Lillian, with a bunch of foster children along the way. He had 12 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great granddaughter. He was predeceased by his parents, 4 siblings, 1 son-in-law, 3 grandchildren, and many friends.
His wife and family will miss him very much, but rejoice that he is finally at peace, in his real home in Heaven, no more pain or sorrow, and been made perfect in mind and body.
We love you, Papa,
and we'll see you soon.
Memorial will be held at the Baptist Church on Saturday, May 26, at 11:00am, with a luncheon to follow.
Pastor Randy Beatty will be officiating, who was Papa's Pastor at Living Waters Fellowship for many years.
In lieu of flowers, please give to the Campbell River Hospital or Gideons International, which Lloyd was a member of for many years.
