Linnea
Born February 6, 1917 in Petsmo, Finland passed away May 30, 2005 in Campbell River, B.C. Linnea is survived by her daughter, Inger (Matt) Leonew, and son, Gunnar (Wendy) Norrgard of Qualicum Beach, grandsons, Erik of Rocky Mountain House, Alberta and Leif of Qualicum Beach. Also many nieces and nephews in Finland.
Linnea was born and raised in Finland and immigrated to Canada in 1957 with her two children. She worked as a cook at many of the local hotels including Willow Hotel, Campbell River Lodge and Painters Lodge. Linnea was predeceased by her husband Carl in 1996. Mom loved her friends and always had the coffee pot on for visitors.
Thank you to Dr. Ramsey and the ambulance attendants for their caring and concern. A thank you as well to the C.R. Home Care Nurses for their kindness to Mom.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 6th at 1 p.m. at Forde House, 142 Larwood Road. Flowers gratefully declined in consideration of donations in Linnea’s memory to the Campbell River Hospital Foundation, 375 2nd Avenue, Campbell River, B.C. V9W 3V1, Island Funeral Services/Elk Falls Crematorium, entrusted with arrangements.
