Linda passed away Wednesday evening at home after a 15 month battle with brain cancer. She is survived by her husband Chuck, son Rob and two dogs Abby and Maxi.
Born in New Westminster, she grew up in Surrey BC, attending Queen Elizabeth High School. She did her nurses training at Royal Columbian Hospital, graduating in 1970, and worked most of her career in the operating and recovery rooms of the Campbell River Hospital. A lover of rhododendrons, she spent more than 30 years building her garden and garden business at home in Oyster Bay.
Linda’s wishes were to spend her final days at home, which could not have happened without the aide of Campbell River Home Care, and the doctors at Alder Medical and Comox Medical. The family would also like to thank the staff and volunteers of the BC Cancer Agency along with the host of other doctors and medical staff in Victoria that
helped throughout her illness.
She will be remembered at a reception between 2 and 4 PM on September 11 at the Oyster Bay Resort. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent in Linda’s name to the BC SPCA or the BC Cancer Foundation.
