It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lillian Frances Smart (nee Shaw) on May 15, 2022. Lillian was born June 26, 1935 to Fred and Victoria Florence Shaw (née Bertwell) in Souris, Manitoba, where Lillian resided until she moved with her parents to Victoria in 1952. Not too long thereafter she met the love of her life Dennis William Smart. Dennis and Lillian were wed in1954 and enjoyed 67 wonderful years together, raising a family, building a cabin on Quadra Island, and later wintering in Arizona once Dennis retired.
Lillian was predeceased by her son David in 2007, and is survived by her 2 daughters, Lynda MacKenzie (Ken) and Sandy Smart. Also survived by grandchildren Scott MacKenzie (Claire), Eric MacKenzie (Kiley), Glen MacKenzie (Tessa), Harley Smart (Justine) and Shauna Gaylor (Andy), as well as great grandchildren Hanna and Lucas MacKenzie, Bowen and Eli Gaylor and Charlotte Smart.
