February 14, 1934- December 31, 2015
Leonard E. Attfield passed away on December 31, 2015. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Lorna and his children Lyle, Raymond (Judith) and Bradley (Dianne), grandchildren Benjamin, Tabitha, Jonathan, Lillooet (Darryl), Kevin (Trisha), Michelle (Jeff) and great-grandson Matthew. Len leaves behind his sister Cecilia (Harold) Sloat.
Len was born in Lestock, Saskatchewan. He travelled out west at the age of 14 looking for work. He started in logging and then tried his hand at blasting (that didn’t go so well). There was never a job that Len wasn’t willing to try. Len eventually became a butcher for Swifts and during his 22 years as a butcher he also built houses, moved houses, built a 32ft. cabin cruiser and two motor homes. As well, Len worked weekends as a handy man on a private estate. After retiring at the age of 42, Len moved his family to Campbell River. Though retired, Len always kept himself busy and developed a passion for fishing, converting Greyhound buses into motor coaches and boon docking in Arizona during winter months. Leonard will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
No service is planned at this time.
