entered into rest on May 27th, 2003.

He is survived by his loving wife Miriam (Mim) MacKay; daughters Ruth (Bob) Winnitoy of Calgary and Barb (Stan) Lochrie of Eugene; sons Brian (Sharon) MacKay of Fort Saskatchewan and Paul (Laurie) of Black Creek; and 13 grandchildren: Sean, Susie, Jay, Paul, Jen, Jordi, Steph, Pam, Matt, Jesse, Kurt, Jake and Lee.

Ken was born in Cochrane, ON on December 16th 1920. After high school graduation he enlisted in the R.C.A.F., became a pilot and went on to train future pilots throughout WWII. As a Flight Lieutenant, he married Miriam Mitchell on June 12th, 1944. After the war, he graduated from the University of Toronto Medical School and went on to specialize in obstetrics and gynecology. He worked at the Grace, Western, East General, Scarborough General (head of Ob/Gyn), and Scarborough Centenary, where he was head of Ob/Gyn as well as Chief of Staff.

His dedication and compassion for his patients was unsurpassed. He was a proud, caring, and loving man whose commitment to his family and all those he touched will be remembered and carried on in his family. A true gentleman. We wil miss him. A special thank you to the staff at the Cumberland Health Centre (300 block).

A Celebration of Ken’s Life will be held on Saturday May 31st, 2003 at 3:00p.m. in Piercy’s Funeral Home with Reverend Fred Massey officiating. Interment of cremated remains to follow in the Cochrane, ON cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Alzheimer’s Society would be appreciated. PIERCY’S FUNERAL HOME and CREMATORIUM have been entrusted with the arrangements.
