Aged 96, passed away peacefully at Yucalta Lodge, Campbell River, BC., on August 22, 2003.

Predeceased by his wives, Patricia in 1970 and Euginia; great grandchildren Eric Hanley and Chelsea Hogan and son-in-law Malcolm Einarson.

Survived by his daughters Peggy Einarson and Jean (Walter) Robertson; brother Murray, grandchildren Debra (Ian) Hanley; Karen (Terry) Robertson; Don (Melanie) Robertson; Janine (Gord) Hogan and Leslie Mitchell. Remembered also by great grandchildren Jodie (Steve); Lizetta (Coby); Lynsay (Kevin); Chad, Alexis, Cody, Bryson, Cassandra, Sarah (Chris); Amy (Mike); Ryan and Steven; great great grandchildren Dylan, Isabella, Matteo and Tyler.

Ken came to Port Haney at age 17 from Ontario to work as a mechanic in his uncle Harry’s Logging Camp “Allco” (Abernathy & Lougheed). His logging career included Harrison Bay where his bride Patricia’s Grandfather built them their first home in his logging camp, Tretheway Logging.

Later he worked for Iron River Logging, Elk River, Menzies Bay and Camp 5 for Bloedel Stewart and Welch. Completing his career as a “Gypo” Logger in Bute Inlet (D & K Contracting) until 1970.

A Memorial Service will be held for family and friends at Yucalta Lodge on September 5th at 2:00p.m.
