Died peacefully on Thursday, July 19th, 2007 at the age of 88 years. She is survived by her three daughters Joan (Brian), Linda (Hugh), and Laurel. Sons Grant (Betty) and Pat. She also leaves to mourn her sisters Julia and Mildred and best friend Nora.
Predeceased by husband John, sons John and Guy, and long time companion Percy, brother Francis and sisters Nellie and Wilena.
Katie was a long time resident of Quadra Island, Cortes and Redonda Islands. She has gone on her last canoe trip leaving behind to take care of camp all her people that she has brought with her on the incredible trail of her life-they are 7 children, 16 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren. Her legacy for knowing and caring for nature will be passed on.
She is gone but never forgotten.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at a later date.
