Kathleen Mary Callaghan
May 14, 1926 ~ December 1, 2007
Always a lover of travel Kathleen began her journey May 14, 1926 in Ireland. The family moved to London where she grew up in 'Shepherd's Bush'. Kathleen married Andy Rogers, a Canadian Soldier, September 21, 1946 and came to Fanny Bay, as a war bride. Kathleen and Andy had 3 sons and spent many happy years in Fanny Bay. Sadly, Andy predeceased Kathleen July 4, 1962.
Kathleen and Don Miller were married in March 13, 1981 and spent many years working and travelling in the USA. Kathleen and Don retired to Campbell River to be closer to family and friends and where they continued their passion for travel. Don's health declined over the years and Kathleen cared for him tirelessly until his passing May 6, 2007.
Kathleen loved her home on the water, spending time watching the ever-changing seascape, feeding 'Jonathon Seagull' and doing her crossword puzzles to keep her mind 'sharp'.
After a short battle with cancer; fought with courage, bravery and humour, Kathleen's journey ended December 1, 2007 at Campbell River Hospital.
Kathleen's greatest joy was her family. She leaves her memory with sons: Barry (Janette), Blair (Cheryl) and Andy (Karen), daughter-in-law Judy (Warren), brother Terry (Kitty) in England; grandchildren Teresa, James, Andrea, Kim, Moira and Amanda; great-grandchildren: Andrew, Matthew, Shelby and Braidyn. Stepchildren Beth (Dennis), Jean (Dennis), Bob (Gail) and Terry (Deb); grandchildren Debra, Steve, Jeffrey, Jordan, Dan, Caelan, Lindsay and Rhea; great-grandchildren Hollye and Carter.
There are many more relatives and friends too numerous to mention but you all know you are in Kathleen's heart.
To all who had the privilege of knowing Kathleen she will be remembered for her wonderful smile, wit, humour, optimism, generosity and ability to make friends wherever life's journey took her.
At Kathleen's request there will be a service only, December 7 at 11:00 am at St. Patricks Church, 34 South Alder St., Campbell River.
